People elect to have cosmetic dentistry for various reasons. The most common one we get told by our patients is that they have lost confidence smiling and are embarrassed about the way their teeth look – and now want to do something to make them look more attractive and allow themselves to never hide their smiles again.
Very few people were born with perfect looking smiles. Add this to the fact that sometimes teeth can chip and discolour or that maybe one was not careful about taking care of the teeth for a period of time, or indeed that teeth have been worn or lost, means that people just like you, finally pluck up the courage to see if something can be done about it.
And thankfully something can. We love making people smile, and are proud of the fact that we have helped thousands of people to long lasting, natural, healthy and stunning smiles with our award winning clinic and staff. Glasgow Smile Clinic Cosmetic dentistry CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE. The first thing people notice when meeting someone new is the eyes and then the smile (not your clothes or hairstyle!). Most people view good looking teeth as an important social attribute. Studies have also shown that a good looking smile can enhance job prospects and further ones career. So its very important to smile with confidence and here at the Glasgow Smile Clinic, we can help you do just that.
What is Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic Dentistry encompasses all those treatments with which a dentist can make your smile look and feel better, and get you smiling with confidence and freedom, so changing the way the world looks at you.
From simple teeth whitening to make your teeth a lighter colour, to more complex dental implants and advanced restorative dentistry (like veneers, bridges and crowns) cosmetic dentistry is one of the most popular area of dentistry today and includes all these treatments mentioned above and more, like white fillings and cosmetic bonding, short term or invisible braces and gum treatments to make the smile look less gummy.
We have been involved in all these areas of cosmetic dentistry since we opened in 1998, our dentists have obtained higher degrees specifically in this field, spending years abroad honing their skills in the USA and learning from the worlds best cosmetic dental professionals. The Cosmetic Dentistry Process
All cosmetic dental procedures come with a Free initial consultation to enable you to get some expert, impartial advice in a relaxed and non pressurised environment. When we see you we will find out what you like and don’t like about your smile, will conduct a brief examination and take some photos or video of your teeth with your permission and then show you the results of our investigation on a big screen to allow you to easily understand and see what your treatment options could be.
If you like what you see and hear, then at that point we will arrange a case assessment visit for you where further investigations including X-rays, study models and more photos/ video will be taken, to allow us to make a comprehensive treatment plan that will get your dream smile started via a process known as digital smile design.
Once we have all the information and shown you the results of your digital smile design, a letter will be sent to you with an itemised personal plan including costs together with any finance information should you wish to take advantage of our interest free options.
Once this is agreed upon, we would be ready to start, and treatment would begin at our award winning best cosmetic dental practice.
Is it painful to have Cosmetic Dentistry?
Depending on what treatment you are needing, we will either do things in a gentle manner without local anaesthetic if is simple work like teeth whitening or bonding. If there is more complex work needing done, then we will carry the procedures out under local anaesthesia, meaning you will feel no pain whatsoever during the treatment itself.
After the treatment some people need some paracetamol but most do not even need this and are ready to go back to work that day or the day after.
Can anyone get Cosmetic Dentistry?
Any adult can get cosmetic dentistry. We have patients just like you from every walk of life, old and young, men and women. The common factor is usually a strong will to change their quality of life for the better and there isn’t an easier way to do this than by transforming your smile into a natural, healthy and stunning looking one.
How long does Cosmetic Dentistry Last?
Cosmetic dentistry lasts as well as you take care of the work that we do in general. However, it must be borne in mind, that everything new, eventually gets older and with use like eating and drinking over many years, then eventually work will need to be updated and replaced. Your dentist will give you an idea of how long you should expect the treatment to last depending on what you are getting done. Most of our higher end work like veneers, implants etc comes with a 5 year guarantee as standard.
